Accessible Pathway at Blue Spruce Park
The caption reads Creekside Reservoir but this is more accurately known as Cummings Dam which serves as the focal point of Blue Spruce Park. The dam was constructed by the Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh Railway.
The photo was likely taken sometime after 1912 when the dam underwent an enlargement. The farmhouse in the photo was owned by W. Getty. We are not certain when the house was torn down but a 1919 aerial photo of the property does not show a home in the location at that time.
This pavilion is ideal for smaller size groups. Capacity is listed at 40 people underneath the shelter.
