General Info
At this time the Blairsville Riverfront trail does not directly connect to any other trail. The Hoodlebug and Ghost Town Trails to the east and West Penn Trail to the west are nearby. A long-term goal is to link these trails together. For now trail users wanting to access the other trails would need to follow streets and highways in the area to connect to the other trails.
The trail is open for walking, running and bicycling. The surrounding Army Corps property is open to hunting. Trail users should exercise caution when using the trail during hunting seasons. Wearing safety orange is recommended. Hunting is not permitted on Sundays.
Pets are permitted but must be leashed and owners are required to clean-up after their pets.
The trail is located within the flood control area for Conemaugh Dam and is subject to periodic flooding, depending on how much water is held back at the dam. Conemaugh Dam is located about 7 miles downstream of the trail. Trail users should not enter the property during periods of high water.
The community of Blairsville offers a number of visitor services including restaurants, a coffee shop and other stores, all only a short distance from the trail. Downtown Blairsville has undergone a major streetscape project with new lighting, landscaping, sidewalks and other upgrades.
The Blairsville Riverfront Trail is also part of a large network of trails in western Pennsylvania known as the Trans Allegheny Trails network.
