Indiana County has many great trails for hiking and biking adventures.

The Ghost Town Trail totals 46 miles in Indiana and Cambria Counties, Pennsylvania. Its name derives its name from numerous mining towns that once existed along the railroad corridor. (Most of the remnants of these ghost towns are now private property.)

The Ghost Town Trail is designated by the U.S. National Park Service as a National Recreation Trail. More info about the national recreation trails program can be found at www.AmericanTrails.org

It is also part of a large network of trails in western Pennsylvania known as the Trans Allegheny Trails network.

The Hoodlebug Trail is a 10 mile recreation and commuter trail running from Black Lick to Indiana. The trail follows the abandoned Indiana Branch of the Pennsylvania Railroad between the Homer City area and Indiana. ‘Hoodlebug’ was the local nickname for the self-propelled passenger coach that ran on the line until 1940.

The Hoodlebug Trail is open year-round for non-motorized activities, including bicycling, hiking, and cross-country skiing.

It is also part of a large network of trails in western Pennsylvania known as the Trans Allegheny Trails network.

Blairsville Riverfront Trail is one part of an overall community revitalization effort. Many historic buildings, which date from the town’s early history as a canal and transportation hub, can still be seen.

The trail is open for walking, running and bicycling. The surrounding Army Corps property is open to hunting. Trail users should exercise caution when using the trail during hunting seasons.

The Blairsville Riverfront Trail is also part of a large network of trails in western Pennsylvania known as the Trans Allegheny Trails network.
